Hopefully the quality of the actual song is on the same level. I’m honestly amazed at how high the quality of the picture up there is. Waka’s verse wasn’t as energetic as the hook, but I still enjoyed it. Seriously, it’s been a long ass time since a Trap song gave me this feeling. If I was hangin’ out in public with my homies and this song came on, somebody would die. I love the way that bass kicks in every time Waka says “ HE AIN’T ROCKIN’ HOW I’M ROCKIN’ THEN IT’S FUCK HIM.” This beat is fucking bananas. Okay, I’m DEFINITELY fuckin’ with this hook more than the previous track. This beat just kinda reminded me of his production. What’s he been up to? That last I heard of him was when he was makin’ shit with A-Trak as Low Pros. Hey, what ever happened to Lex Luger? Didn’t him & Waka used to do like every song together? I haven’t heard about that guy in a long ass time. There are like 1000 different people signed to BSM, but that’s neither here nor there.
I had no idea that all of 808 Mafia was signed to BSM. I think this Chaz Gotti guy is signed to Brick Squad Monopoly.
To be fair, that’s pretty impressive for a Trap song. I enjoyed the actual verses much more than the hook. I was gonna call it dope af, but that hook holds it back a little bit. It’s not like he thinks he’s a great MC that should be mentioned in the same conversation as Rakim or KRS-One. Like this line: “ I got shooters in Nebraska / O ut there they say ‘ Ne-blast-ya.’” That’s some of the most stupid shit I ever heard, but sometimes stupid is entertaining. Obviously he isn’t hitting anyone with dope ass bars that make you think. There are a lot of dope lines that I fuck with. “ Nigga fuck your life.” I guess the hook could’ve been a little more hard hitting, but it’s still not bad. There really isn’t much to dislike about this song if you like Trap music. “ Shootin’ / I’m too rich to fight.” Waka’s energetic delivery sounds pretty good over this beat.
This whole song is actually better than I expected it to be. I mean, it’s not that good, but it’s better than I expected it to be. Waka’s goin’ in now with a pretty dope flow. I’m not in love with the hook, but it’s not bad. “ Ain’t no motherfuckin’ talkin’ / Bitch, I’m shootin’ at these niggas / Shootin’, I’m shootin’, shootin’, shootin’ at these niggas.” This beat is fuckin’ crazy. This could pretty much be classified as Drill music. I hope he’s got some shit like that on here… My favorite song by Waka Flocka Flame is definitely Seen A Lot featuring Wooh Da Kid. I’m expecting a handful of entertaining songs tho. I’m not expecting this to be that good of a mixtape. It’s less okay to say that he’s your favorite MC, but nobody really says that, so I don’t really get why some people hate shit like this. It’s okay to say that Waka Flocka Flame is your favorite musician because he makes entertaining music that appeals to you. It’s okay to think that he’s a good artist tho. Nobody thinks that Waka’s a good MC because he isn’t. A lot of Hip Hop heads scoff at the idea of critics not shitting on people like Waka, but I think Trap music has it’s place in Hip Hop. Obviously I won’t be too hard on the lyrics unless they’re really really really stupid or offensive or something like that. Young Dolph is probably my favorite Trap artist, but Waka’s decent too I guess. I can only take it in small portions tho. I don’t really love Trap music, but I think some of it’s entertaining. I’m kinda late to this one, and I honestly wasn’t even gonna check it out even though it got requested, but it somehow found it’s way onto my schedule, so I guess I’ll give it a shot. He should’ve made his State of the Union in the form of a song. He should’ve named his album after something that has to do with being a president. They also loved him for being a stereotypical representation of the modern black man who they made a clown of, but that’s not the point. The white boys at my school loved him for that shit. He should’ve capitalized on that when he had the chance. Not that anybody with a brain was taking it seriously, but they still liked it. Everybody was paying attention to that shit. If you ask me, that shit where he said he was running for president was the best possible promotion he could’ve got. I guess it was released in promotion of Waka’s upcoming third studio album. Flockaveli 1.5 was released on November 25th in 2015.
